Seating for Dancing with Our Stars 5 Will Go on Sale June 12, 2012

DANCING WITH OUR STARS-SEASON 5 is officially on its way. Mark your calendar for **August 25, 2012. The event will be held at the Ramada Oasis newly remodeled Convention Center. This event sells out each year way in advance so be prepared to get your seats reserved early. Dance teams will be soliciting sponsors for star level tables and seats will be open to the general public on June 12, 2012.

On March 24th, during Emerald Evening XVIII, the Season 5 Dance Stars were announced for the first time. They are as follows:

Pat Bauer (Red Team) performing with professional dance instructor, Danae Colvin of Ozark Dance Academy.
Ken Bolls (Green Team) performing with professional dance instructor, Anne Walls of Dance With Me and Savoy Ballroom
Shara Collins (Electric Blue Team) performing with professional dance instructor, Jim Criger
Jeff Hammock (Black Team) performing with professional dance instructor, Erin Garner of Red Door Dance Company and Dance Mission
Ursula James (Purple Team) performing with professional dance instructor, Jeff Inmon of Springfield Little Theatre
Claudia Saul (Pink Team) performing with professional dance instructor, Andy Walls of Dance With Me and Savoy Ballroom

Register Now to Attend Springfield Catholic All-School Alumni Event!

Save the date for Saturday, September 15, 2012 when the Springfield Catholic All-School Alumni gathering will take place. Contact your high school friends and encourage them to meet you on the 15th!

Classes to Be Honored : 1947, 1952, 1957, 1962, 1967, 1972, 1977, 1982, 1987

Registration is from 4:00 – 4:30 pm at The Catholic Center Gym, 601 S. Jefferson

5:00 PM Mass will be held at St Agnes Cathedral

A 6:30 PM Social Gathering followed by the 7:00 PM Reunion Dinner will be held at Springfield Catholic High School, 2340 S. Eastgate, Springfield, Missouri Registration deadline is September 8, 2012

SCHS Press Box Needs Advertisers

One of the first things you notice as you arrive at a Fightin’ Irish football game is the press box located at Swisshelm Field- Dr. Harvey Michael Track. A few years ago, the old press box had become unusable due to deterioration in the floors and ceilings. The new press box is larger and completely maintenance free. In addition, new braces were installed, a new sound system and reinforcements were made to the existing bleachers and fencing. Funding for the project was provided by the SCHS Booster Club, SCS, and individual sponsorships/advertising. Please help us pay off the remaining $8300 needed to complete payment for this project.

How do you help? Great question, the answer is simple: advertise. Now the new press box and reinforced fencing has plenty of advertising space, and we would like nothing more than to fill it with OUR families businesses, or just family supporters. Emerald Evening XVIII a Record Breaking Success!

Saturday, March 24th marked the 18th year for the Springfield Catholic Schools’ Emerald Evening gala event known to many in Southwest Missouri as the single largest one night fundraiser for education. The 2011 Emerald Evening (17) raised a record breaking $127,000 in net proceeds, however, in the Fightin’ Irish tradition, a new record breaking $158,000 in net proceeds was raised for students at Springfield Catholic. Donors from Destination Emerald Evening also purchased** 22 new compound light microscopes for the science labs.** Thank you so much to everyone who worked to make this evening such a phenomenal success.
