I teach Debate, Public Speaking, and Drama. I teach on B days, and my prep block is B1. If you need me on an A day, the best way to reach me is by email kellis@scspk12.org. I am happy to schedule time before or after school if you need extra help with assignments. I am the Forensics/Debate Coach and am looking forward to a competitive season!
My husband, Jeff, and I have three children, Hunter, Jack and Caroline. Hunter attended SCHS, Jack is a 4th grader and Caroline is a 1st grader at Immaculate Conception. We have been IC parishoners for 5 years. I am a marathon runner and most recently completed the St. Louis Rock-N-Roll Marathon last October. I L-O-V-E to golf, snow ski and SCUBA dive!
I began teaching in 1993, and then took several years off to raise our children. I am beginning my third year at SCHS and LOVE IT!!! I am currently working on my Master’s Degree in Education Administration from Southwest Baptist University.

PUBLIC SPEAKING/DEBATE EXTRA CREDIT ASSIGNMENT
I am offering extra credit to those students who would like to increase their final exam grade up to a maximum of 2%. I will award 1% for a completed 1AC speech and 1% for a completed 1NC speech.
For example: if you complete the 1AC and earn 95% as a grade, I will add 0.95% to your final exam grade. If you complete both 1AC and 1NC and received 95% on both speeches, that will increase your final exam grade by 1.9%. Your final exam (which is a debate) is worth 20% of your semester grade.
This assignment is due no later than Thursday, December 22, 2011 at 12:00 pm.
Please use the evidence packet that is attached to this post, along with the example 1AC that I posted last month, to draft a 1AC and 1NC for the National Forensic League resolution for the month of January:
Resolved: The costs of a college education outweigh the benefits.
